This specie of grass is a regular pollen factory. Just looking at this picture makes me sneeze. Most of the blossoms of this grass are pretty ordinary but if you are willing to look at them carefully as you sniffle through the field you will find there are occasional pink or pale-lavender specimens. This is one of the lavender ones. They are kinda neat-looking and if you catch them on the right day you will raise clouds of pollen as you walk the field! So if you have severe hayfever, just look at the picture.
