This building in Springfield, MO was once a gas station. At that time route 66 was running through town and this gas station was serving the route. On January 27, 1933, Bonnie and Clyde stopped at this gas station to fill their tank and buy a coke. They had just kidnapped Officer Thomas Persell and needed his help to get out of town...

You can read the . His interesting comment on the appearance of Bonnie included not only that she preferred to eat her cigarettes instead of smoking them, but:..."the girl I sat beside for such short time was red-haired and not the least bit beautiful."
