Strange-Parasitic-Plant

This is a strange parasitic plant known as "Indian Pipe" or "Ghost Plant" It has no chlorophyll. To get the energy it needs to survive it is parasitic on fungi that get their energy from the roods of trees. What we see here is all of the brief stages of it's above ground existance. Bud's flowers and seed pods... what an odd looking thing.
