| What a lovely flower is the Gladiolus! This is one of the surviving bulbs planted from a few years ago. I had planted perhaps 50 down at the bottom of my drive; a place where I there is no water other than that provided by the rain. It has survived snow, dry summers and hungry deer and for a week or so every year it graces that spot with this it's beautiful blooms. Such a role model! Despite it's poor environment, with nothing but weeds and poison ivy for company, it puts forth a display of such loveliness it is like nothing else in the woods. |
