| In some parts fo the world this is known as Silkweed because of the silk-like down that carries the seeds off. You can find this plant or one of it's cousins growing just about anywhere around the world. The flowers have a lovely waxy quality and each petal seems as if cast from a mold. The down from the seed pod is quite soft and some parts of the world is used to stuff pillows. The stems are very fibrous and in the past have been processed like hemp and flax for their fibers to use in textiles. |
