| This one is also known as "oblongifolus" or "long leaf." It's stems are not nearly so woody as the white asters that can swallow entire fields out here in the Ozarks. The purple aster seems to show up as a solitary plant here and there. In spots of diffused light it seems to grow better than the white aster which prefeers open fields and bright, sunny spots. |
