There is a road that runs along the cliffs at the ocean's edge north of Santa Cruz, CA. You will find a pathway as well. It makes a lovely walk, you don't have to jog even though it seems every one else is. If you pay attention you might spy a notch in the edge of the cliff and if you scramble over the iceplant you will find a smalll, crumbling staircase to the ocean.
These ocean stairs lead you down to a wide stone shelf washed daily by the tides. The salt air has spend decades encrusting the pipe hand rails with rust.
